Here's where you keep up with what's going on!

October, 2007

We have not disappeared and soon we will inform you of some changes that have come about, all in God's timing.

Early Summer 2007

Many of you are probably saying to yourself, "Where have these guys gone.?'. Well we are still here and still making music. The spring has been very busy in the lives of the Cowboys. That in itself has for the most part has kept us off stage, (and not getting to your e-mails)  We pray the remainder of the year allows us more concert time.

Our sound has been evolving through the spring as we have become a seven piece (three guitar) band. Joe has brought more songs to the band and we have had a great experience working them up. The new music has been worked into the set list now and is ready for your enjoyment at a venue near you.

Some things going on in the band: Randy's daughter has graduated high school and is headed for Tennesee in the fall. Joe has been involved with laying groundwork for a crusade in Nigeria and will be headed back there in the fall. Anthony has spent time this spring in Argentina and has been busy working in his studio. Mike and Doug have new grandkids. Bob has been a blur to all those around and just doesn't slow down and Kyle, besides playing drums and banjo for us has been sittin' in and playin' around town with anyone who will give him the time of day.

Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to sing to the glory of God in the style he has placed in our hearts.

We hope to see you somewhere soon.

Welcome to 2007

Welcome to a new year. 2007 has landed it seems without warning. I think "they" are right. The older you get the faster time flies. But lets get our perspective correct. In the context of eternity this is but a blink of an eye. As Joe has penned in the song Are You Ready, "You're gonna live forever, the question is Where? The answer is Jesus holds the key.

As 2007 begins, it is time to answer the question. Do you know where your eternity will be spent? Jesus said "Follow Me". He does hold the key to forever in heaven. Our prayer for you is that a relationship with Christ would become real this year. In the song Shadow, Jerry Dowell wrote, "I can't see beyond the skies or look into my tomorrow, I'm only trustin' He will keep me beneath the shadow of His Wings. Let Christ be where you find your refuge this year.

Fall 2006.

I know it's been a while since the last up-date, but here goes. The summer was good. We stayed busy. If not playing a gig, we were busy working on some new material. God just keeps blessing Joe w/new lyrics and song ideas. As he passes the ideas on to the band its amazing what kind of life they take on. Such strong messages.

Now Guess What!  That's right. We have a new band member. No one has left, we just thought it was time to add some weight to the guitar side of the stage. I would like to introduce to you Mr. Doug Bennett. Doug is a long time friend of the band and has 'set in' with us on numerous occasions. He has spent many years honing his craft of the electric guitar and playing with different local bands. His latest gig has been with regional artist Jerry Dowell whom Doug has spent nearly fifteen years with. http://www.jerrydowellband.com

The Hallelujah Cowboys are excited to have Doug with us. Come hear us at a gig near you!!!

Spring 06' update

2006 has kicked off with a few great concerts, then it slowed down. Not to worry though. This slow time has spawned some new songs. Joe has not been idle in the songwriting area. We have arranged two new songs and given new life to an old one, (I Know You), with Anthony lending his voice for lead vocals. This has been an exciting time for us. Starting in June we have something going on every month through October with possibilities of adding more. We would ask for your prayers for Anthony and his family as the company he works for is soon to shut down their KC office. He has had an offer to relocate to Houston which has been turned down. Anthony has been such a perfect fit for the band we would really hate to see him move.

Stay tuned for more updates and check out the concert schedule.

January 30, 2006

Homer's Coffee House is an awesome place to kick off 2006. Without a doubt blessings were to be had on Saturday the 28th. We saw alot of old friends there and yet over half the crowd was new to us.The music sets felt great and full of the Spirit. The night ended on a "strong note" when Rick Camp on guitar and Rob Eaton on bass joined in. Randy grabbed the tamborine and the crowd persuaded his daughter Amber Gaylord to add her strong alto voice to the mix as everyone sang Will the Circle be Unbroken. We are looking forward to the next time they allow us to be here.

January 2nd, 2006

You said it, where did 2005 go? Great memories were to be had from last year. We made new friends, played to some packed houses, played to some houses that had many empty seats too. We played inside, we played outside, in perfect weather and some very hot midwest summer weather. And you know we would do it all again, because in it all, God our creator was in the midst of it all. We were blessed immensely in 2005.
Our second CD project, "Set Free", was completed in June. Thanks to all those who have given such positive feedback for this labor love.
We would like to say Thank You to some very special people who have helped us through 2005 in the many different ways you have been led.
Phil Stone, Randy Rushing, Steve Ragan, Roderick Patton, Leonard Hayes, Don Miller, Chris Schoenhals, Jack & Donna Butler, P.R. & Virginia Hancock, along with others we have probably failed to mention here. You all had an important part in the Hallelujah Cowboys year in one way or another. May God bless you and your families.
As 2006 begin to roll our prayer, as a band is to be in God's will. We cherish your prayers as they lift us up.

Will our paths cross this year? We hope so.

Late October 2005

WOW! What a late summer and into fall we're having. September kicked off with the Homer's gig. What a crowd. A packed house again. Mid september we found ourselves in southern Johnson County at a Barn-warming/Ranch dedication party. The host mother was back from Tennessee and requested "Rocky Top". Now that is probably not on the list of top ten christian songs, but Kyle, (our drummer), knows just about anything that has been on the country charts from say 1945 on, so he was able to lead us through that one. (Did I say he plays banjo too?) We had a very enjoyable time that night sharing Christ through music.
October 2nd started for us at Blue Valley Baptist Church in Overland Park. A Spirit filled night was on hand there. Everything felt right. I am still hearing comments that touch my heart a month later. It also was a blast to have Mark Felton and Carl Kincaid sit in with us that night.
Princeton KS was our next concert on Oct 8th. I don't belive we could have found another spot to put anybody that night. What a wonderful bunch of happy people. We play at Princeton every October and yet every year just gets better and better.
Please remember us in your prayers as we prepare for November and concerts at Neighbors Coffee House in Smithville, MO & also a concert at the prison at Fort Leavenworth, KS.  We are also booking for 2006 now and will update our concert page soon. STAY TUNED!

August 23rd, 2005

What a month August has kicked off to be. Our first practice, after some vacations, really felt right. We continued the next night by playing in Ottawa, KS at Potter's Wheel Coffee House. What a crowd. We had to find extra chairs for everyone and still had some standing. A BIG "THANK YOU" to all that were there. We were richly blessed. The next Sunday found us in Pleasant Hill, MO for the160th anniv. celebration of the First Christian Church. Although we had a very warm and humid afternoon to set up, the Spirit was very present. (Thanks Bruce) We again felt blessed to be able to share with such great people. Thanks so much also to Steve Ragan and Randy Rushing, (great sound techs), for your unselfish efforts to help these concerts roll on.

July 2005!

Well we've had a month without any gigs, but that is how God works things out. Mike had time off for a family reunion back east in Rhode Island and as I write this, Joe is in Canada w/others from his church on a retreat and fishing trip. We have continued practicing though. (with whoever could make it)

NOW, THE LATEST UPDATE.

The Hallelujah Cowboys are very excited to introduce our latest addition. Anthony Dominquez has come on board to play keyboards and as an additional vocalist. Anthony's musical background goes back many years and we feel blessed to have him on board. He actually started practicing with us in June and did set in on the last two gigs of that month. Things have gone smoothly with this addition and the month of July has worked well to help get us all up to speed w/the addition of a keyboard.

Now we're going to have to get another picture taken...

Randy spoke with DiscMakers Thusday afternoon. Approval has been given to proceed with CD production. We are excited as we would expect to see this product in hand by mid-month. Stay Tuned...

05-27-05

Check it out!!! Don Miller at Airborne Audio Productions has done a spectacular job mastering "Set Free". We received our final copy Tuesday evening. Randy was in contact with DiscMakers in NJ Wednesday going over a check list with the whole package being shipped out Thursday the 26th. We received an e-mail from DiscMakers on Friday the 27th letting us know they had received everything. Later they followed up with a call to Randy just to touch base again. Their art department had already gone over Chris Schoenhals work with the comment,  "it looked like he knew what he was doing". (Of course we thought this from the get-go.) We expect to see proofs for everything by June 2nd or 3rd. Once every thing is approved we would hope to see product in hand approx 14 days later. Stay tuned for further developments. Same Cowboy time, Same Cowboy channel.

5/18/05

Check out the new pictures in the websalbum from our gig at Homer's Coffee House.  We had a great time and the crowd was great.  They (Homer's) want us back a couple more times this year.  See you there!

04/22/05

Things are going well with "Set Free", our latest CD project. Mastering will hopefully be done very soon as well as the art work Chris has been doing such a great job on. It will however be down to the wire to get them finished by the Homer's gig on may 14th. Keep us in your prayer's.

4/14/2005

We have just added a new concert date.  We will be playing on April 23 in Ottawa, Kansas at the Potter's Wheel Coffee House.  The concert begins at 8:00 PM and ends at 10:00 PM.  See our Concerts web page to get a map to this location.  Hope to see you there!

3/15/05

We now have in hand what we hope to be our final mix before "mastering". Don Miller again has given us his utmost and this project is really coming together. Chris Schoenhals is currently working on cover and insert designs and they are looking GRRREAT! We may pop them up here when they are finalized. God has truly had His hand in the midst if this project and we are so excited to share this with soon. Keep checking in with us and we'll keep you posted...
